There are some things you just cannot change… Did you ever want to go back in time and redo something? Well I did. I wanted to change this event so badly and wished it never happened; but I can’t. It’s been quite some time since it happened and still, I am wishing that I can redo that part of my life.
“We must all suffer from one of two pains: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret. The difference is discipline weighs ounces while regret weighs tons.” I have never forgotten it and still, I remember it every once in a while. What saddens me most is that I could have stopped it but I didn’t. The only thing that still keeps me going are the hopes that the future could still be brighter than that of what was before. I never shared this to anyone, even with my best friend. I thought of this part of my life to just be kept to me and only me. It’s really hard not to see the effects of what I did because every day I see and feel it… There’s so many things that I want to say but I just can’t. To be honest, I don’t even know how to start. I can still feel some of my tears trickling down my eyes when I remember it… It’s really hard, this is the thing I regret the most.
Still, there’s one good thing that came out of this and it is the process of learning from my mistakes. I learned from it the hard way and I now know what to do; but that thing I regret the most would always stay in my heart, haunting me. I can only forget about it with the help of my family and friends, when they make me feel happy. There are also times that they make me forget about all the problems in my life, that’s why I love them so much, because they make me feel, well, I couldn’t explain it but they make me feel something that I don’t usually feel.
Lesson here is that you guys, reading this section of my blog, should think of the consequences that may rise up when you do something, may it be a good thing or a bad thing. And when you’re faced with problems, don’t be scared to face it, you don’t even need to face it only by yourself, take the hands of the people you love and trust the most and I promise you, you’ll be able to conquer that problem. Take the advice; regrets only come when it’s already done.
"Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?"

Ideologies
“The greatest mistake you can make in life is to continually be afraid you will make one.” This was quoted by Elbert Hubbard which I find much fitted to John Maxwell’s Blog about Fear. Fear cannot really be eliminated. It can be covered up but what’s the point? It’s still there. It’s like trying to hide the sky by closing your eyes, it will never be gone.
All of us encounter fear; the only difference here is the manner in which we face it. Fear can both become an asset or a liability for a person. Fear’s an asset; I remember a line stated by Joker to Batman in the movie Dark Knight, “What does not kill you will only make you stronger.” Fear should be a source of encouragement to do things towards greater heights. Fear is already there, it’s a fact, cannot we just intercept our attention and make our fears the reason for our success? After overcoming our fears, we can be who we really want to be, we can achieve anything by taking fear out of the picture or better, making fear our strength and source of inspiration.
It’s a liability when we let fear get the best of us. Some people, well actually most people, perceive fear as a reason to stop. It’s exactly the opposite. Because fear is there, we should just keep moving forward because fear will never be gone, will we just stop everything we do just because we fear that we’ll make a mistake? Humans were created fallible, that’s what makes our kind so beautiful, we make mistakes so that we learn from it. So don’t be afraid, don’t fear. By forgetting fear, we can now focus on things that really matter, our success and for our own future.
Let me give you guys an example, Let’s say I’m afraid of expanding my company because of the fear that I’ll just pull my company down. “Pano kung mahulog ang kompanyang ito kung gagawin ko ‘to…” It is the failure of success that I fear. Because of this, it’ll hinder me from creating a good company that could probably help a lot of people but I wouldn’t know that because I’m afraid right? This is the concept in which people don’t become their fullest selves and the reason behind people becoming unsuccessful, Fear of the probable outcomes in the future.
Do you think that Bill Gates, Steve Jobs or Henry Sy were not afraid? Actually they were. The difference between them and us is that they took the chance. They weren’t afraid to jump. They were able to overcome fear itself. Look at them now; they are now successful in their lives. They knew what the consequences were but they weren’t afraid, they believed in their selves that no matter the outcome will be, those were their decisions, “This is me, overcoming fear.” “What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?” This was quoted by Vincent van Gogh. Take a leap forward and be courageous…
There are multiple ways on how to overcome fear, stated by John Maxwell, here are some of my reactions and additional ideas on his concepts…
All of the products of continuous efforts to really understand Fear and most importantly how to overcome them are already shown to us by John Maxwell. To really overcome fear, we have to dissect fear and examine its core. Fear is there, it cannot be gone, and we can only overcome it and believe that all is going to be well. Admit that you are afraid, enclose all your fears in a box and all at once, leave them.
Accept fear as the price of progress, with every step that we take towards our dreams, fear will always be there to stop us from continuing, we have to continue and take risks and with that, we can now know if it was all worth the risks and sacrifices.
Develop a burning desire that overcomes fear. Create a very inspiring concept on your mind that would be able to overcome fear, for me, it would be the idea of me being able to reach my full potential as a student and a person. By being courageous enough to risk, I would have no regrets and no rumors in the future, “Paano kaya kung ginawa ko ito…”
Focus on what you can control. Nobody can control fear, it’s self-sustaining. It cannot be destroyed. Control what you can, your attitude, the way you perceive things or the way you think. In this way, you can now say to yourself, I did what I can and what happened to me were just inevitable events.
Lastly, we have to do it now. We have to believe that fear cannot really be destroyed and it’s a part of life. With this, we can now move on with our daily lives, taking chances and risks that would change our well being. “One who fears failure limits his activities. Failure is only the opportunity to more intelligently begin again.” Henry Ford.

1st time
Last Tuesday, I wrote a letter for our Principal regarding the Proposal for a Biking Club for SLU-LHS. I don't know but it was easy for me to create a letter because, maybe, I was driven. Until now, biking is my favorite sport, it's so perfect for me because I'm here in Baguio. I'll let you guys see how I wrote the letter. Oh yeah, and before I printed the letter, my brother helped me make it look like a real formal letter. Haha, thanks bro!

Mr. Joel Cabanilla
Principal
St. Louis University Laboratory High School
Dear Mr. Cabanilla:
Greetings of Peace and Goodwill!
I am John Aaron Go of 3-Mapagpakumbaba and I am speaking in behalf of other biking enthusiasts here in our school. We would like to create a Bike club for our school to show to the Louisians that there’s more to biking than they ever knew.
Being a biker has given me the perspective of how beautiful biking really is - and what makes it extra special are the amazing sceneries here in Baguio City that no car or any other machine, other than bikes, can go to. We would like to share these majestic experiences with our fellow Louisians. Another asset for us here in the mountainous regions is that we have a cool climate which bikers look for. That’s what we want to show to our fellow Louisians, that this sport is so compatible with our city and it couldn’t do any harm if done properly.
Another objective that we want to show here is that the SLU community wants a cleaner and greener City. By using bikes, we are showing to the public that it’s a better alternative of transportation rather than transportations that give off harmful gasses that destroy our environment. Another plan that we have in mind is joining our group to the “Green Ride.” It is created by a group of Biking enthusiasts headed by Jim Ward who has the same cause, Baguio city becoming a cleaner and greener city. It is a fun ride around Baguio City which is about 15-20 km. ride which is done every 1st Sunday of the month.
Furthermore, we would also like to take full responsibility of our private belongings and will not blame the school for any injuries that may occur. If this will push through, we would arguably be the 1st School in the region that promotes Baguio to be a better tourist destination through sports. We hope that you were able to understand our cause and we hope that this proposal would be implemented.
Thank you very much for your kind consideration sir. May God bless you and the entire Louisian community always.
Very Respectfully Yours,
John Aaron O. Go
Student
III-Mapagpakumbaba
I really hope that this letter would change everything. I would like the Louisian community to see that Biking's not just healthy but it's also really fun. Hope you guys would strengthen the movement!
